2001 Premier Cru Les Dominode 5
Grape: Pinot Noir. The only wine of this tasting that was a little disappointing, although it was in no way defective. I just expected a bit more complexity, but on the nose as well as in the mouth it had a linear, pure but straight-forward cherry-kirsch in that gentle Savigny-les-Beaune style. There was plenty of good acid, so perhaps it will continue to develop over the next few days or years. The acid probably helped it with food-pairing as well. Perhaps it was simply overshadowed by some very well-endowed peers today. $33 at Wine Club  (2005-08-05)
Jean-Marc & Hughes Pavelot
Savigny-les-Beaune in Cote d'Or,

2002 Oliver Jouan Haute Cote du Nuits 4
grape: pinot noir. pleasant cherry fruit, light, made well, smells good, everything is in order except it could have been more concentrated.  (2005-08-06)

Billaud-Simon Chablis 7
2002 Cuvee Tete d'Or - chardonnay. Quite rich, balanced, just enough oak to give some complexity, wonderful nose of peach and mineral, plenty of body.  (2005-12-16)
